        Samples of Photographs & Verses
For many people, reading Hole in the Garden Wall  is like walking through a hall of mirrors.  At least one, and probably more, of the photo-verse combinations is certain to awaken a long-forgotten voice deep within your soul.

That’s the  magic of Kohl’s renowned "visual thought" process. This process is neither a gimmick nor a random act.  Marrying photographic images to original verses is just one way Prudence Kohl expresses what she firmly believes ...

... if you want people to think, first get them to feel.

To accomplish this, Kohl uses words to invite attention to language. Words are the most powerful medium for communicating ideas — and ideas are what move society.  Photographs invite attention to images — and visual images are the most powerful medium for communicating feelings and emotions.  By joining the power of ideas to the power of feelings, Kohl reconnects the head to the heart and opens the door to a higher level of human dignity and dialogue.

Her fine art photographs and verses challenge us to rethink those cherished beliefs that keep us isolated within the comfort zones of our own walled gardens. Kohl’s words and images inspire us to rise above the prejudice of closed minds, step beyond our garden walls, and rediscover our divine radiance — the life we were born to live.

Once found, it can never again be silenced or denied.

PS:  Please excuse the KQ watermarks on these photographs.  Obviously, the bookplate master prints in Hole in the Garden Wall  do not have this distracting element.  We had to add watermarks on these sample photos because they were so popular, people were copying them without permission.  Sorry for this visual inconvenience.
